WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing and is well known historically for its pain relieving methods. This is done by inserting ultra fine needles at very precise acupuncture points. Balance Acupuncture treatments employ a method of distal point needling where the site of pain or injury is not needled. Instead distal points are used and with correct administration will produce fast effective results for pain relief in most cases.
It is also utilized for a wide range of  health conditions.

The World Health Organization has listed the following health conditions which has had success with Acupuncture (for full list follow this link http://apps.who.int/medicinedocs/en/d/Js4926e/5.html)

HOW DOES ACUPUNCTURE WORK?

The traditional Chinese explanation is that channels of energy run in regular patterns through the body and over its surface. These energy channels, called meridians are like rivers flowing through the body to irrigate and nourish the tissues. When these channels are blocked pain and other ailments ensues. These meridians can be influenced by needling the acupuncture points, which unblocks the obstructions and re-establish the regular flow through the channels. Acupuncture treatments can therefore help the body to trigger its own self healing mechanism.

The modern scientific explanation is that needling the acupuncture points stimulates the nervous system to release chemicals in the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These chemicals will either change the experience of pain, or they will trigger the release of other chemicals and hormones which influence the body’s own internal regulating system.

The improved energy and biochemical balance produced by acupuncture results in stimulating the body’s natural healing abilities, and in promoting physical and emotional well-being.
